Over the past few months, there has been a surge in this segment, with companies like Ola, Ather, and TVS leading the way. However, even smaller companies are making improvements in their sales.
Astro Pro and Astro Pro 10
Gurugram-based electric vehicle company Electric One (E1) has launched Astro Pro and Astro Pro 10 electric scooters. The company claims that the Pro model will offer a range of up to 200 km on a single charge. It will compete with companies like Ola, Ather, and TVS in the Indian market.
Pricing and Features
The on-road price of the Astro Pro is ₹99,999, while the Astro Pro 10 is priced at ₹1,24,999. The company is offering these scooters in 5 color options: Red Berry, Blaze Orange, Elegant White, Metallic Grey, and Racing Green. Both scooters come with a 72-volt lithium-ion battery connected to a 2000-watt motor. These scooters provide a range of 200 km on a single charge and have a top speed of 65 km/h. They can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.99 seconds. Charging them fully at home takes 3 to 4 hours.
Other Features
Both scooters come with a smart display, carbon coating, alloy wheels with front and rear disc brakes, LED headlamps, and LED DRLs. They also offer the convenience of remote lock-unlock, and anti-theft alarm for added security. The range of Astro Pro is 100 km, while the Astro Pro 10 has a range of 120 km, which extends to 200 km with the Adventure S battery.
E1 is currently selling these electric scooters in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Assam. In the future, the company plans to expand to 20 more cities. Presently, they have over 100 outlets and service centers in more than 80 Indian cities.
The company also plans to open showrooms in Sri Lanka and Nepal. E1 Energy, the parent company, is already selling its scooters in countries like Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Turkey, and Indonesia. E1 has an in-house manufacturing setup in Manesar, Gurugram, and has partnerships with leading global suppliers.
